I
feel I have been very blessed to have been raised in Southington from
1967 to 1989. After spending 17 years in Texas, and returning to
Southington in 2007, I was able to look at this wonderful town with a
new perspective. Southington has so much to offer for families, from
great schools and parks, to a thriving downtown and other avenues of
entertainment. My wife Kelly and I felt it was important to raise our
family here during our children’s formative years, to instill a sense of
family, community, and pride in our town. Our oldest child will be
returning to Derynoski this year, and our daughter will be starting
preschool at Saint Thomas, so we have a vested interest in the continued
success of Southington schools.
I am running
for a position on the Board of Finance for several reasons. First and
foremost, the time I have spent either managing or owning physical
therapy clinics has emphasized the importance of having sound finances
for continued success. Today’s current state and national political
situations have taught me that it is not enough to sit on the sidelines
and either assume or hope that elected officials will consistently place
the interests of their constituents first. I believe it is important to
give back to a town that has given me so much. I will bring an emphasis
on fiscal discipline, as I believe a solid foundation for the future of
our town is based on the financial decisions made today. I look forward
to serving this great town as a member of the Board of Finance.
