Board of Education
I am seeking reelection to the Board of Education because I have a deep desire to serve our community, and believe that my skills and experiences as a wife and mom to three children, a former business owner and an attorney enable me to be a strong and valuable public servant. Additionally, I know who I work for: the community. I am a team player, but I have never been afraid to swim against the tide if I feel it is necessary. I am an independent thinker with strong ethics. I always have the community’s best interests in mind.
I am different from many candidates because my background is in business. This permits me to come to the table with a fresh set of eyes and a unique perspective, especially in the area of fiscal responsibility. I will ask the question “Why?” many times to get to the meat of an issue. I do not take anything for granted. No question is too small to ask, and I have asked many questions and uncovered many issues and considerations that might not have otherwise come to light.
I am an open minded person and treat each individual fairly and with respect. I do not come to meetings with my mind made up on any issue. I truly listen to people and try to make the best decisions I can based on the facts and information presented. Each person receives my undivided attention and respect. One of the best things about serving on this Board is meeting people and learning what is important to them. I wish to continue to use my skills and energy to serve our community.
